Cavalcade – Democratic Student Community of Eger

The Eger education foundation is happy to announce that a democratic student community is opening in Eger, Hungary, in September 2013. We operate as an NGO (Kavalkád Egyesület) and welcome homeschooling students from the age of 3 upwards to spend their "homeschool day” in our premises.

In the spring and summer of 2013 there will be a variety of programs for children, their parents and anyone else interested in the idea of homeschooling and democratic education.

Our educational concept briefly:
· mixed aged groups (separate groups for nursery and school aged children)
· an inclusive community
· rules of the student community are decided together in the democratic meetings
· project-based work (participation in the programs is not compulsory)
· workshops are offered throughout the year
· both Hungarian and English are used in the community
· parents actively participate in school life
